上节课我们写了两个不同的开头段。第一个BOBO是尽可能按照范文套路写的。基本思路是简单、直接，紧扣满分要求“句型多样，用词合适"。不追求含蓄，修饰。

我们先麻烦同学复习一下：“Apparently, the prevalence of the Internet does not shorten the psychological distance among people, but oppositely elongates it, although we are able to reach others quite easily now by using the device like smart phone. Then, under such circumstance, it is hard for us to keep trying new friends as we do to accept new technology, since we must cut off the longer distance between us and our friends. Therefore, compared with new friends, old friends provide more supportive factors in our life, and its importance will be emphasized with the proof presented in following details.”有效问答问题，梗概全文主旨，句型尽可能不同，用词合适不做作。

今天我们通过BOBO在“30篇范文”写的文章，讨论下写作中的含蓄（DOWNPLAY）和修饰(RHETORIC)的写法。所谓含蓄，downplay就是自己的观点先不说。要把看似无关的、反方向的观点先表达出来。然后，再发转回来。例如，I love u 不直接说，而是说Everyday we meet the new friends, old friends, all friends, but no one can get into my heart as strongly as u can, coz I lose any resistance but surround my love to u. 

而修饰，rhetoric是个很大的概念，一般是用文学的手法把自己的观点给重复，具体化，或者一般化。比如，我们说I love u. 这是一个直接表达，没有含蓄。这是时候我们要修饰的话，这个意思就需要重复。如果，我们说I love u, more than I can say. 就是一个对比的修饰，在重复我爱你的意思。如果，我们说 I love u, and such love can’t stop but haunt in each moment of my life. 这就是一个夸张修饰，来重复我爱你的意思。如果，我们简单地说，I love u, and really, only, extremely love u. 就是一个最简单的反复修饰，来重复我爱你的意思。

 那么来看BOBO在“30篇范文”里面写的：

第一句：The Internet largely shortens the distance among us, since we are able to reach each other more conveniently and at much cheaper price. 这里前面用简单句开头说了个大家都知道的事实，然后用SINCE从句具体化，来重复前面简单句的意思。其实强调修饰了互联网的作用，好像是要展开说互联网的好处，与题目无关。

第二句：This may be true in physics or in technology, but psychologically we oppositely feel lonelier, even with the hands-on devices always available. 第一个部分已经出现弱化了，因为用的是may be true。 BUT后面是真正意思，所以前面全是DOWNPLAY。Even后面是让步式强调修饰，还是坚持认为大家更lonelier。

第三句：Such dilemma strongly supports the effectiveness of a conclusion that the long time friendship always weighs in a lot for us, even though we are increasingly easier to meet new friends. SUCH是代词来保证段落句子间的一致性，正式提出老朋友重要的观点。后面 increasingly easier 等于上一句hands-on devices always available相同的意思，属于反复的修饰方式。

第四局 ：In the following paragraphs, a couple of reasons will be demonstrated in concrete to bolster the accuracy of importance of old friends. 这句话没有什么太多新意，就是铺垫下文。用了BOLSTER 和IN CONCRETE的新词替代常用词的变化。
