在阅读理解第一次课我们说了选项判断的实战标准。今天我们拿篇文章来实战分析一下。首先，总结一下上次课的实战要点：“最短时间找到实战的排除原因，很多选项不需要科学理解。只需要看一些选项重点词在原文中是否有提到，离原文越近越是正确选项。GRE考察同学们对最好选项的选择能力。详细分析就是，名词注意具体，动词注意特殊，形容词副词注意程度深。 情态动词、数词、特殊语法结构要留心。”

例题：GRE国内题93年04月Section A 短文章。

首先我们看以下文章。“Paule Marshall’s Brown Girl, Brownstones (1959) was a landmark in the depiction of female characters in Black American literature. Marshall avoided the oppressed and tragic heroine in conflict with White society that had been typical of the protest novels of the early twentieth century. Like her immediate predecessors, Zora Neale Hurston and Gwendolyn Brooks, she focused her novel on an ordinary Black woman’s search for identity within the context of a Black community. But Marshall extended the analysis of Black female characters begun by Hurston and Brooks by depicting her heroine’s development in terms of the relationship between her Barbadian American parents, and by exploring how male and female roles were defined by their immigrant culture, which in turn was influenced by the materialism of White America. By placing characters within a wider cultural context, Marshall attacked racial and sexual stereotypes and paved the way for explorations of race, class, and gender in the novels of the 1970’s.”

首先文章分析我们简要分析一下：

第一步，分析主旨和态度。第一句话，文章主旨句：给出PM的小说是Landmark。后面每句话，作者坚持了对PM的强烈正态度。

第二步，注意文章结构。第二句话是负态度Protest novels，来在说明PM的作品好。第四句BUT后面“假转折，真强调”说明PM作品的两个细节是超越先人的。最后一句话继续补充了两个。

第三步，找出文章中的具体含义名词，判断出题可能性。BOBO在上文中已经画线了。

注意，具体阅读文章方法，我们在阅读以后课程中再讨论。大概就是这三个步骤，同学先预习一下。

我们来做一道细节题：

It can be inferred that the author of the passage would describe Brown Girl, Brownstones as being

(A) completely different from novels written before 1959

(B) highly influenced by novels written in the early twentieth century

(C) similar to the protest novels that preceded it

(D) important in the late 1950’s but dated today

(E) an important influence on novels written in the 1970’s

首先，我们看题干是说根据文章可以推理出这部小说什么？这道题是细节题目中阅读量最大的，因为除了主旨词没有别的细节词。要做这道题目必须要把文章通读一遍。任何说过的一句话都有可能是正确选项。

然后，我们看下每个选项中的特殊词，只要有一个词感觉原文没有说过的，就要排除。按照我们上次课的标准我们一个个地过：

(A)completely different from novels written before 1959。看见这两个基本上不用看句子意思了。

(B)highly influenced by novels written in the early twentieth century。没有说高度影响。只是说在第三句话，继承两个人的一个观点。

(C)similar to the protest novels that preceded it。文章第二句话对抗争小说是负态度。

(D)important in the late 1950’s but dated today。时间特殊没有说过。

(E)an important influence on novels written in the 1970’s。正确选项。对应文章最后一句话。（选项解析节选自“GRE阅读理解答案解析，邓剑波著”）

所以，同学可以看出来绝大部分选项不需要科学理解意思，只要看其中的特殊在文章中是否有支持。没有的话，就是错误选项的标志。在同学大量做题后，应该体会到得心应手，ETS要求1.5分钟一道题的完成文章阅读和选项判断是有可能的。请同学们回到本文第一段以及GRE阅读理解的第一堂课，再仔细体会下GRE选项判断的实战标准，然后大量做题练习。
